Chuck's Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
2/3 cup butter-flavored shortening
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream together shortening, butter, white
sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the

Drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking
Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until centers are set and very
lightly browned. Don't overbake.
Cool 2-3 minutes before removing from baking sheets.
